Olink® Proximity ExtensionAssays (PEA) are powerful assays for biomarker discovery. The assay utilizes dual-antibody recognition for protein specificity. The antibodies are tagged with an oligo-label that hybridizes to its partner when bound in proximity. The DNA tag can be amplified using PCR, enhancing the sensitivity of the assay. Moreover, it is multiplexed within a single well allowing for tens to thousands of assays to be performed from minimal sample inputs. Its plate-based format supports high-throughput analysis, making it ideal for large-scale studies.
