Primary mouse hepatocytes are widely used in preclinical research for evaluating large compound libraries to assess drug-drug interactions, hepatotoxicity, and other liver disease-related functions. These cells are particularly valuable for lead compound prioritization in the discovery phase, as well as drug metabolism studies, including cytochrome P450 (CYP450) profiling. In addition, mouse hepatocytes complement primary human hepatocyte studies, helping researchers compare species-specific differences in metabolism or selecting an appropriate in vivo animal model of disease.
