Discovery employs stringent quality control measures to ensure only the highest quality libraries are chosen for downstream 10X single cell sequencing.

Our cell biology laboratories, biobank, and sequencing laboratories are located under the same roof to simplify chain of custody and standardize sample handling to minimize artifacts.

Our expert cell biologists:

Assess the quality of starting materials via fluorometry
Prepare a wide variety of sample types for library prep including whole blood, bone marrow, and fresh and flash frozen tissue
Minimize sample transfer time from biospecimen processing to cell encapsulation through proximity of sample strorage facilities and cell biology laboratories – all under the same roof
Expertly employ flow cytometry for quality checks to inform antibody directed barcodes for downstream CITESeq analysis
Perform sample clean up required before library prep including dead cell removal and cell population isolation

In process quality assessments throughout to ensure sample quality prior to sequencing
Perform size selection and cleanup steps to remove unbound or non-specifically bound probes and ensure a high-quality library with the desired size range is selected for sequencing
Thoroughly assess the quality and quantity of the prepared libraries to ensure accurate quantification and verify that the library meets the required specifications for sequencing
Expert bioinformaticians perform and present analysis of resulting data and present to clients using CellRanger to evaluate quality of library prep and the tissue being analyzed
Perform sample clean up required before library prep including dead cell removal and cell population isolation

Libraries selected are then transferred down the hall to Discovery Genomics for sequencing.

Scientists can send us their own samples or choose from the world’s largest, well-characterized, commercial biobank located in the same building as our cell biology laboratories.
