Plateable cryopreserved human hepatocytes from individual donors that have been pre-characterized for responsiveness to model inducers represent the “gold standard” experimental system for CYP induction studies, especially in the pharmaceutical industry for the development of drug-drug interaction (DDI) data packages for marketing approval by regulatory agencies. We report here our successful preparation of cryopreserved human hepatocytes pooled from multiple donors (Gentest® 10-Donor Pooled Plateable Human Hepatocytes (PHH)) for CYP induction evaluation. PHH were prepared by thawing, pooling, and recryopreservation of plateable cryopreserved human hepatocytes from 10 individual donors using our internationally patented protocol.
